I don’t know what to call this.

In the morning of his immanent demise he understood that he would change the world forever -the Son of God- walking on earth. He also knew He would face the cross. We know he faced the cross. (It's hard to count your crosses these days)I wonder what he was thinking when that thought ran through his mind at the age of twelve. Two thousand years have past. He still changes history. Jesus, the name above all names, never named anything.Yet, what all is named after Him?How many schools did He build? NoneHow many university's did He teach at? ZeroHow many books did He write? NoneHow many friends did He have? FewHow did he change the face of this planet? And do it in such an amazingly powerful way through humility.Christ, the divine.Man, I want to get back to that. But, this is what I'm faced with.I'm faced with an American Jesus.Where he was crucified at a place called Golgotha, meaning the place of the "rich."He takes 70 lashes plus one from the marketing geniuses whom presume that only if you purchase you image your life will be better, and as long as you have strait teeth, a tan, and some nice clothes you're going to make it till retirement. He wears piercing crown made of Benjamin Franklins, the Federal Reserve note of statue, and power.(Like a crown of thorns was to humiliate His heavenly kingdom supremacy.)His cross is made of up Logos from fortune 500 companies piercing his skin and draining him.Wallets like nails are being hammered from his own people, the church.Paper or plastic.Don't you find it funny that the American Jesus appealing to socioeconomic church is portraying him in such a matter as a church building that cost millions of dollars?Wonder why you never see million dollar churches in the ghetto?Hard for a rich man to get to heaven. I didn't say that. (It's just a quote)Jesus Christ riche's church would be in the poorest slums in the world, and is.Frankly, the caliber needed of spiritual fruitfulness from America is not being fulfilled. But, there is people in China that are put in jail for a page of the bible.Wonder what it would be like to be a follower of Christ, in Iraq. But, we're here and we're all rich. If you got change in your pocket you have more money than most the world….Really.We're in a pretty tough situation when one person alone could feed the world.1>6,000,000,000Never adds up.Statistics say it would take about $2 billion to start making real stride in making a difference in poverty and disease that larger population of our world. Moreover, there is over 150 countries in this poor world. But, one of them takes up 40% of its recourses. That's almost 1/2.And, to add to that. We're all fat! At least 60% of us. (Including me)Blame ourselves? Conviction necessary? Desire change?Short answer yes. But, our culture has defined our faith. We have to reverse that. How crazy and backwards would it be if an Educator made more than a Actor?A teacher more than a super-model.Let's think this through in an intellectual, rational way with ample perspective and follow through, with a dabble of suave tact. What does learning contribute to our livelihood? - Everything.Super Models? - Eye candy that is an over priced ugly option no one really buys
That cross that's being held up by our wallets is making some big plays for Satan in this game. That's the point, we create crosses for ourselves, making them crutches and unknowingly it's a façade, and it's really just a vice.I don't have a solution. I don't know the answers. But, I hope someday we American's understand greed, and benevolence, don't go hand in hand.Maybe that homeless man will take your money and put it towards boos. But, it's not him who has the money. Take a risk, let Jesus work, and He will bless you.Bless you.
