POLITICS 2008! (Let me know what you think!)
2008 Presidential Candidates: I would love to see the fiscal sense of Paul, the morals of Huckabee, the experience of McCain, the charisma of Obama, and lastly the diplomatic reason of Clinton. However, that is a dream world. Being the President for the next couple of terms more like trying to see who's the best at being a janitor, because our country's in a mess. I'll leave it with McCain, because Obama has been very inconsistent with his image, and if Clinton get it, that makes two families having the oval office since 1993, and lasting till at least 2012.Party: Divided we Fall.Too many times people cling to their party, instead of the person.Cling to the cause and the advancement of their view instead of seeing the implications of the view when applied to the public. We are Americans, we should be united. This is a country for the people, by the people.Abortion: No law should be imposed. It should be a case by case judgment. Being each case is unique and there are always going to be extenuating circumstances. Imposing a authoritative law over a mothers shoulders making a decisions for them is not going to help the specific situation. It should be encouraged that all mothers keep their children, I'm very "PRO-LIFE", and pro-have the baby, and put it up for adoption, but, I understand if we make it unlawful to have an abortion then you going to see some messed up children (birth defects), incest, raped females who birthed a child out of the tragedy, and sometimes whenever the mother is in direct immediate danger of loosing her life, etc. It should be a case by case judgment.Affirmative Action: I can see the way it could help minorites. But, it should definitely be tweaked.Alternative Fuels: Absolutely, just got to have some backbone behind saying we're following through.Capital Punishment: If we had a law that said if you was murdered someone without-a- doubt and you was to be executed the next day, do you think the homicide rate would drop?I really don't know. I'm very confused when trying to bring a definite answer.Censorship: Depends on who the material is sensitive too. If it is relavent and important to the people, then, of course we have a right to know. However, if it is sensitive and important yet, its also a national security threat then, of course, no.Cuba: It would suck to live there.Current Administration (Bush/Cheney): Watch Fahrenheit 9/11-Specifically the scene when he found out we had been hit.Current Congress: Weak. Unpatriotic. Self serving. Greedy. Pompous. People who have a need to get a reality check and see what is really important to the people.Education:K-12 has a poor system. Teachers are unfocused and cling to their steady career to just try and make it in the world. But, it should be people who are passionate about education children- making them stretch themselves, learn, bring out the best in everyone. The kids are our future. We just have to give them a chance.Electoral College: Popular vote is more telling of the wants of the Americans. Thus, it should be what matters.Flag Burning: "I can't stop a man from burning my flag, but, I swear I'll hold my gun knowing I would die so he could it, we're Americans Daniel, we're a free society, and that is what freedom entitles him too." - CSM Brockman ParaphraseBurning flags is despicable. But, as Americans, we have the freedom too, we can whoop them for it.Foreign Policy: Keep America and Americans safe. Gain respect from a world perspective. Develop trade for our commerce. All this may be almost impossible.Free Trade: Short answer yes. Giving the world employment is great. But, should be guidelines so we still have jobs in America too.Gay Rights:Marriage is between one man, and one woman. Bound together in love and holy matrimony. It's outside of the terms of our government to try and redefine marriage. Global Warming: I would think it's warming up cause, when I was a kid it snowed around Christmas. I think there is evidence of the global warming that is scientific and inarguable, but, if it's caused by man or if it's the periodic fluctuations is still yet to be determined.Globalization:As long as cultures don't loose their pride and identity.Gun Control: Guns don't kill people, people kill people--fact. We have a right to arms. That's still our right. But, there are circumstances and intelligent ways to reason out how we could better monitor the access to guns and control.Healthcare:Probably the sickest issue. (not even trying to play on words)The whole system should be purged and revised. No reason doctors should make the profits they do, nor, the insurance companys. No reason people die on the streets cause they didn't sign a paper. No reason for a huge number of children from ages 13-22 that go without any heath coverage plan at all. Again, this is AMERICA! What are we doing?Illegal Immigration:Give the a chance to appeal. Resulting in them staying and getting their citizenship, or being deported. Border patrol should be more effective.Marijuana Legalization:No. It's classless. If it was a good idea, let's look at the people who are addicted to it, and see if they lead lives worthy of examples.Media Bias: Freedom of speech. :-.. Ouch. - At least we have Fox NewsMinimum Wage: Minimum wage is making some people live in poverty.I see that as a problem. Maybe if it was allocated appropriately to people with different life settings. Let's say a 16 year old boy living with his parents can make $5.25 minimum wage? But, a single mother, 21, would make 8.65 minimum wage?Outsourcing: We need jobs in America. We need jobs abroad. There should be some way to implement a way to regulate the volume of the jobs incoming and outgoing.Right to Die: I, nor anyone else, has any say in ones wishes to die. School Prayer: Should not be imposed, nor forcedVoluntary prayer should be allowed and acknowledged as permissible simply because of this recent issues with school prayers kids think it's almost "sin" to pray in schools. That's kind of backwards.Separation of Church and State:This issue is timed out. We're past this. Church and state are separated. See year 1776. Morals and state should be a everyday thing. But, I guess that's outdated too.Social Security: Needs to be reformed almost as badly as health care. Should be addressed and fix as soon as possible.Stem Cell Research: Is an important step in curing diseases, but i believe it is the responsibility of the researchers to conduct it in reasonable, safe, humane ways.Supreme Court: They're out of the job. More or less just a position for a old successful person who talked to the right people to just sit and chill.Taxes: Will always fluctuate. Get over it.The Constitution: Incredible. Federal government should focus on the welfare of the people, and leave the states to the laws.& P.S. -The police officers of America should go over this daily so they stop imposing on our rights.Unions: Works well for many.United Nations: Has a lot of potential. Just foster it.War in Iraq: Money lost, time lost, reputation lost, credibility lost, but, most importantly lives in uniforms are lost. And for what? Freedom?Well, if you spell "freedom" O-I-LWelfare: Revise it. It's good, WIC & food stamps are great. But, they should have an honest screening process to the possible benefactors. (AKA If you don't need it, you don't get it!)Wiretapping: No one in America should any national security crisis conversations, thus, they have nothing to hide.Comments: IF YOU DON'T VOTE-YOU DON'T MATTER!
